A CALL FOR CEASEFIRE AND JUSTICE<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Nelson Mandela University Council condemns, in the strongest terms, the ongoing violence, death and human suffering in Gaza. The indiscriminate destruction of civilian life, natural resources, healthcare systems, educational institutions, amid the forced displacement of Palestinians and vicious blockades, have devasted people and environment. These actions not only represent grave violations of international law; they mirror deeply troubling and well-documented patterns of violence that evidence genocidal intent and conduct.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We call for an immediate ceasefire and an end to the prolonged occupation, allowing unimpeded humanitarian aid, and accountability for all violations of international law. As an institution committed to Nelson Mandela\u2019s legacy of justice, equality, and solidarity with the oppressed, we stand with the people of Palestine in their quest for freedom, self-determination, and peace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We urge governments worldwide to reject complicity with the Israeli government, act decisively to protect Palestinian lives, and work towards longer-term political stability in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

O Conselho da Universidade Nelson Mandela condena, nos termos mais veementes, a viol\u00eancia, morte e sofrimento humano em curso em Gaza. A destrui\u00e7\u00e3o indiscriminada de vidas civis, recursos naturais, sistemas de sa\u00fade, institui\u00e7\u00f5es educacionais, em meio ao deslocamento for\u00e7ado de palestinos e bloqueios cru\u00e9is, devastou pessoas e o meio ambiente. Essas a\u00e7\u00f5es n\u00e3o representam apenas graves viola\u00e7\u00f5es do direito internacional; elas espelham padr\u00f5es de viol\u00eancia profundamente preocupantes e bem documentados que evidenciam inten\u00e7\u00e3o e conduta genocida.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apelamos por um cessar-fogo imediato e o fim da prolongada ocupa\u00e7\u00e3o, permitindo ajuda humanit\u00e1ria desimpedida e responsabiliza\u00e7\u00e3o por todas as viola\u00e7\u00f5es do direito internacional. Como institui\u00e7\u00e3o comprometida com o legado de justi\u00e7a, igualdade e solidariedade com os oprimidos de Nelson Mandela, estamos com o povo da Palestina em sua busca por liberdade, autodetermina\u00e7\u00e3o e paz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Instamos os governos em todo o mundo a rejeitar a cumplicidade com o governo israelense, agir decisivamente para proteger vidas palestinas e trabalhar para uma estabilidade pol\u00edtica de longo prazo na regi\u00e3o.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
